Seedarium - Concept sketches

More concept sketches I did for my master's project, the Seed Bank.

I recently got a new Moleskine, Japanese book (I'm so excited about it, that I'm telling everyone!) and I started experimenting with longer sketches. Here's a scan of part of it.

Concept for circulation - how to isolate & contain tourists from scientists, who work on really precious little seeds?! (I glued my old sketch there too.. more experiments with collages)

More circulation - other side of the glued paper - tourists come out of the work spaces and appear straight in a greenhouse.

Types of possible touristic circulation - bridges, catwalks, tubes, glazed walkways on the roof...

Another strip of my sketchbook.

A new concept (Tadaaaaaaa!) - Elevated greenhouses or elevated offices in greenhouses.

Exploring possibilities with suspended offices and lab spaces: view to the Grand canyon from one side and a rain forest from the other. Tourists walking in the middle or closer to offices; they have a chance to observe scientists or botanists, plants in earth or plants in aquaponic system.

Reversing the idea - what if the greenhouses are suspended?! + opportunity of looking over the area between building volumes. A lot of association with ant nests and canyon layers... Plants are making the impression of oasis in desert.
And finally - the sketch I made a little earlier, seed storage underground. I was inspired by ancient Roman catacombs deep underground, with light wells... and more ant nests.
