Gravity

I spent the entire day watching videos from the International Space Station where Chris Cadfield explains how they perform  everyday mundane activities in zero gravity. Gravity fascinates me - being the weakest force in four fundamental forces of the universe and still so unknown...
Apparently every matter has a gravitational force. If you were alone in space, you would be the largest mass around you and nothing was competing with your gravitational force, so all small objects would slowly start drafting towards your body...

Dreams about Tsunamis

I often dream of tsunamis... The dream is terrifying - a huge mass of water is getting closer and closer, and I have no place to run. I'm overwhelmed by fear and a feeling of helplessness...

My grandparents had a house at the zoo. Their backyard shared a fence with it. There was a hole under the fence, and because that area was unobserved, we could sneak in and out without being noticed. The zoo became our playground. We spent hours riding wheel and observing different animals, sometimes feeding them with food we'd steal from our kitchens. I even have memories of building a treehouse in the park, with some kids from the neighborhood...

Less than a week ago a small river streaming through the zoo raised and flooded the entire park. It wiped out everything, drowned animals and people, destroyed houses... My playground became a place of great tragedy... My condolences to my dearest people.
